Bartosz Milewski: Being part of the MET Group team will never get boring

January 11, 2024
“What I consider to be the greatest achievement is that even though the markets are changing quite fast, we always find a way to achieve our goals,” says Bartosz Milewski, Senior Originator at MET International who recently received the MET Excellence Award for his exceptional performance in 2023.

What was your first thought when you heard your name announced as one of the winners of the 2023 MET Excellence Awards?

I was just happy that all the hard work has been noticed and appreciated. It was an extraordinary feeling.

What do you think is your greatest professional achievement?

I think it is hard to name a single event or deal. I am proud to have helped MET Group successfully enter the natural gas market in 5 new countries (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland). However, what I consider to be the greatest achievement is that even though the markets are changing quite fast, we always find a way to achieve our goals. This would not have been possible without the trust we put in each other as a team and long-term relationships we build with our business partners, as I believe the crucial part is to stay successful in the long run.

Where do you see MET Group – and yourself – in five years?

I would like to see MET Group continue to grow in the next five years at least at the same pace as currently. I really enjoy entering new markets and setting up our activity on new territories, which creates new business opportunities and synergies with existing operations and positions. Being part of the MET Group team will never get boring, so the plan is to go with the flow, and we will see where it takes me in 5 years.

How do you ‘recharge batteries’ outside working hours?

I spend most of my free time with my family. Together with my wife and two kids we enjoy travelling, playing games and simply having fun. My biggest passion, which I started when I was 7, is sailing. Together with my brother we take part in sailing competitions around Europe. Sailing helps me switch off completely, as you need to stay fully focused to handle the boat and maintain good speed. It seems that my kids also like sailing, so at some point it would be good to form a crew and sail together.
