MET Group enters the Italian and Bulgarian markets

MET Group energy trading company is continuing its European expansion through the establishment of subsidiaries in Italy and Bulgaria. The core business activity of the new companies is the sale of natural gas and power to industrial and SME customers.

MET Group has been active in the Italian gas wholesale and LNG markets for several years. In order to further extend its presence in the Italian market, by targeting end-user customers, MET decided to establish MET Energia Italia.

MET Italia is headed by Giuseppe Rebuzzini, with extensive experience in the energy sector. The CEO commented on the founding of the new subsidiary as follows: “MET entered Italy as a strategic market since it is the second largest gas market in continental Europe and it has a potential for synergies with other core MET countries. Furthermore, Italy is getting more and more interesting as a hub for LNG deliveries.”

The establishment of MET Bulgaria is a natural addition to MET’s existing portfolio in neighboring countries like Romania, Serbia and Turkey. MET Bulgaria will build synergies through cross-border trading with MET Group’s regional subsidiaries, and position itself on the domestic wholesale and retail power and gas markets.
