The MET Asset Segment consists of two divisions – Green Assets and Flexibility Assets. The Green Assets division strives to become a substantial developer and operator in the European renewable energy market with a significant, financially sound green asset (wind and solar) portfolio. The Flexibility Assets division works to address the rising need for system flexibility as a result of the increased contribution of intermittent renewable energy, to provide both security of energy supply as well as to support of the energy transition.

Green Assets Division

Building on MET Group’s expertise in natural gas and gas-based power production, we strive to facilitate energy transition to a zero-carbon world. Our strategy aims to optimize the company’s activities and expand its capabilities across the entire value chain, which includes the development, construction, operation, maintenance, and monetization of renewable projects and portfolios.

With a dedicated focus on project development in photovoltaic, onshore wind and BESS, alongside its existing operating portfolio and mid- to late-stage development pipeline in Europe, MET Group intends to realize higher added value from renewable energy.

Flexibility Assets Division

Addressing the challenge of ensuring system flexibility and reliability of supply, the Flexibility Assets division is an integral part of MET Group's strategy for supporting the energy transition. As an owner and operator of flexibility assets (assets which are able to be programmable or dispatched), the Division seeks to grow via opportunities to deliver value by leveraging the team’s experience and synergies with existing positions.

In line with MET Group’s view that natural gas is a key bridging fuel for the energy transition, the Division owns and operates several flexibility energy technologies such as: CCGT (combined cycle gas turbine) plants, gas engines and CHP (combined heat and power) plants, BESS (battery storages), gas storages and transportation (LNG carriers). In addition to continuing to develop these and other energy infrastructure asset classes, the Division is actively developing balancing service provider / virtual power plant “aggregator” platforms to harness and maximize the market value of the system flexibility provided by the Division’s asset portfolio.
