Since the beginning of 2023, MET Group has been the official partner of the International Judo Federation (IJF) and the IJF World Judo Tour, with the company present on site at all of the Grand Prix, Grand Slams and World Judo Masters competitions worldwide. Under the agreement, MET Group will support the IJF, especially in talent and youth development, areas that are essential for the energy company, as its exceptional growth story over the last 18 years has been based primarily on finding the right talents, giving them responsibility from the very beginning and continuing to grow together.

At the start of 2024, the collaboration between MET Group and the now five-time Grand Slam winner Nils Stump (28) was launched. During this time, something special has developed, which will continue to grow until the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

“MET is more than a sponsor for me. I feel the support of the entire MET team, and I am always touched by the warmth of people who work both in the Baar headquarters and at the company’s other 20 locations in Europe and Asia.

The support until LA gives me planning security. I will do everything I can to participate in my third Olympic Games. And this time, the journey will take us further than Tokyo and Paris. I definitely still have a score to settle with the five rings,” said the native of the Zurich Oberland, who now trains in Brugg.

MET Group’s brand values – Agility, Courage, Independence – are a perfect fit for the ambitious Swiss top athlete, who has dedicated himself to judo since the age of 7 and has been able to turn his passion into a profession.

Benjamin Lakatos, Chairman & CEO of MET Group said: “I was able to meet Nils on and off the tatami. I am impressed by his approach, his striving for the perfect fight, but also his sympathetic, charming way with which he touches the people around him. We look forward to the continuation of our journey and to the stories we can write together”.
