MET Group, a leading European energy company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Van de Cruys as the Chief Executive Officer of its Sales & Trading Segment, effective 1 September 2025.
Tom Van de Cruys brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in the energy sector. He joins MET from TotalEnergies, where he held senior management roles across Germany, the UK, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Spain, overseeing power and gas supply as well as power generation activities.
Prior to his time at TotalEnergies, Tom served as CEO of Lampiris, a Belgian green energy start-up. Under his leadership, the company experienced strong growth and was successfully acquired by TotalEnergies. He holds a degree in civil engineering and is married with two children.
This appointment marks a significant milestone in MET Group’s strategic transformation. In January 2024, the company established two distinct business segments, Sales & Trading and Assets, to enhance focus, agility, and innovation. This structure supports MET’s ambition to become an integrated European energy champion.
Based at MET’s headquarters in Baar, Switzerland, Tom will join the Sales & Trading Board of Directors.
