Twice as many alumni have rejoined MET in the last two years than in the 15 years preceding the Alumni Club

Networking opportunities within the MET Alumni Club can bring tangible benefits, from establishing business partnerships to rejoining MET Group. Alumni Club Chairman Kori Jellen tells us more before the next annual Alumni Get-Togethers in Zug (8 May) and Budapest (13 June).

Since the MET Alumni Club was established in 2023, twice as many Boomerang Alumni have rejoined the company than during the 15 years before the Club’s establishment. Boomerangs now represent 2% of MET Group’s workforce, forming a diverse and international community within the company.

“I saw several of these Boomerang Alumni talking to managers or HR colleagues during the in-person events we organised last year, so these events play an important role in welcoming back colleagues” says Kori Jellen. The very existence of the Alumni Club demonstrates that MET Group is open to maintaining an active relationship with former colleagues, reconnecting through different events and activities.

Networking may also mean business relationships – several MET Alumni have launched specific cooperations with MET Group, in particular in the area of professional services (consulting, coaching etc). “The MET Alumni Club is an excellent platform to start business partnerships. Some of our former colleagues even secured seed investment for their business projects through the MET Alumni network” explains the Alumni Chairman.

The next in-person get-togethers will take place in Zug on May 8, and in Budapest on June 13. These meetings have also proved to be useful for knowledge-sharing and discussions on energy market related topics or just having fun together.

At the very first in-person meeting of the Alumni Club, MET Group CEO Benjamin Lakatos told former colleagues: “You have all contributed to MET’s success story. I would like to thank you all for your relentless efforts, the company’s growth would not have been possible without your hard work”.

Going forward, the MET Alumni Club is planning to organise in-person events in more European countries. MET Group alumni can register for all upcoming programmes and events here: https://alumni.met.com
