This is how MET Group creates an incentivising workplace

May 20, 2025
MET Group has based its success story on the expertise of its workforce. Today, on International HR Day, we see how different initiatives have resulted in creating an employee experience which was recognized by the Top Employer certification in 2024 and 2025.

Employee Engagement Survey

Receiving feedback is essential in creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. The second Group-wide Employee Engagement Survey started in May 2025, with the support of a state-of-the-art people success platform dedicated to measuring employee engagement and well-being.

Colleagues’ insights – covering various aspects of their work life – will help MET Group understand what the company is doing well and what can be improved. MET is convinced that success is driven by positive experiences of its employees.

Talent Development Programme

MET Group has very talented, outstanding colleagues and the company considers them to be one of its greatest assets. It is part of MET’s strategy to nurture young talents through its tailor-made Talent Development Programme (TDP), putting young colleagues into meaningful roles at a very early stage of their careers, within a maximum of 5 years since graduating from the university.

The company is searching for ambitious and talented colleagues who are ready to go the extra mile and are eager to learn and develop. TDP participants can benefit from learning activities, tailor-made career opportunities, exciting, best-in class trainings, mentoring from experienced top managers and a lot more – this year’s TDP programme will kick off in October.

MET Alumni Club

MET Group maintains strong relationships even with departed talents. The MET Alumni Club seeks to create a long-lasting community of former colleagues, reconnecting through different events and activities, and potentially welcoming back former employees. Since the Alumni Club was established in 2023, twice as many Boomerang Alumni have rejoined the company than during the 15 years before the Club’s establishment.

In-person events have been particularly popular. The latest annual MET Alumni get-together took place a few weeks ago in Zug (Switzerland), the next gathering is scheduled for June in Budapest (Hungary). Going forward, the MET Alumni Club is planning to organise in-person events in more European countries.

Top Employer Award

MET Group’s Swiss subsidiaries have kept the prestigious Top Employer certification in Switzerland for 2025. Just like in the previous year, MET remains as the only Swiss-based energy company to have received this prestigious award.

The Top Employers Institute is an internationally recognized institution which surveys and independently audits companies’ people practices based on top international standards. During the comprehensive evaluation process, over 250 areas were assessed in MET Group’s HR policies and practices including people strategy, talent acquisition, employee development, talent management, wellbeing offerings, diversity and inclusion, as well as work environment.
