Earning by learning – Gaining experience with internships

By Katalin Bárány, Head of Group HR Strategic Initiatives, MET Group

One of MET Group’s key success factors is our 500+ highly committed professionals. Many of them had joined us as fresh graduates and were promoted internally based on their outstanding performance.

We aim to recruit and retain the most talented individuals. Let me give you an insight how talent acquisition and development works at our company. I am convinced that this can help you consider internship opportunities in a more conscious and long-term oriented manner. Internships are a 'foot in the door' – the first step towards your dream job.

Did you know that, among other famous people, Steven Spielberg began an unofficial internship with Universal Studios when he was 17 years old? Spielberg snuck into the studio (he wasn’t granted access) and networked with directors, even creating a short film that found its way into executives’ hands. Universal heads were so impressed that they offered him a seven-year contract.

We are proud that our internship program serves as an excellent tool to integrate and to engage fresh graduates. They are important parts of our team which counts 40 nationalities from all around the globe.

I do encourage you to apply for internship opportunities to launch your career after graduating and invite you to visit our career website – https://group.met.com/en/met-group-career – for current vacant positions, or just send your resume and cover letter to vacancy@met.com. We will not hesitate to contact you if any opportunity arises within MET Group.
